Hello Steffen, can your introduce yourself for the french riders? Salut Steffen, peux-tu te présenter aux riders français?

Hey my name is Steffen Vollert , i am wakeboarding since 13 years. i am 24 Years of age, from Thulba ( just moved to Duisburg).

Salut je m’appel Steffen Vollert, je fais du wake depuis 13 ans. J’ai 24 ans, je viens de Thulba (je viens de bouger à Duisburg)

 

Your ‘re the winner of the Wake and country? can you comment this week end? Tu es la gagnant du wake and Country? Peux-tu commenter ce week end???

i had such an awesome weekend at TNG.. everything was so relaxed.
It was the first big comp for me this year so it was cool to see everybody
and to ride with everybody was so good.

J’ai vraiment passé un super w-e au TNG, tout était super relax.
C’était ma première grosse compétition cette année, c’était donc cool de revoir tout le monde et de rider tous ensemble.

 

what did you want into the new format of contest? Que penses-tu du nouveau format de cette compétition?

First i was thinking critical about it but after the first rounds i really liked it.
The sessions where damn exhausting but even more fun. you can ride more risky and really show stuff you would not try in a normal format.

Au début j’ai critiqué, mais après les premiers tours, j’ai vraiment apprécié.
Les sessions étaient vraiment épuisantes, mais en fait beaucoup plus fun. Tu peux rider en prenant plus de risques et montrer des trucs que tu ne ferais pas dans une compétition au format normal.

 

What do you think about the park of TNG? which obstacle do you prefer? Que penses-tu du park du TNG?

TNG is definitely one of the best parks in the world.. it was my first time there and on my first few laps i recognized the huge pull the cable has. just crazy.

On the obstacles they made a really good job and for the competition it was an awesome setup with a good variety of different rails and stuff…

TNG est effectivement un des meilleurs park au monde. C’était ma première fois sur place et dés mes premiers tours j’ai tout de suite senti la forte traction du câble. Hallucinante!

Ils ont bien bossé sur les obstacles et la mise en place pour la compétition était géniale, variée et tout…

For the Final Heat it’s was hot with Dominik Ghurs? C’était chaud pour la finale avec Dominik Ghurs?

I am used to ride against Dominik and to end up second after him…. so it was ok.

But this time something was different.. this time i knew that i could have the chance.. so i was even more motivated.

J’ai l’habitude de rider avec Dominik et de terminer second, c’était donc cool.

Mais cette fois-ci il y a eu quelque chose de différent, je savais que j’avais une chance, du coup j’ai eu plus de motivation…

 

When you ride, you have the time to check other riders for make a better tricks? Quand tu rides, as-tu le temps de regarder les autres riders pour faire un meilleur trick?

i saw the other rider in the semis what they are doing . so i could think about other tricks before the run. My idea was that i first just wanted to do my tricks i planned to do in the first 2-3 laps and than i tried to see what they were doing.. so i could step it up again.. was pretty fun.. and i had some spys at the startdock.. thx muri and jan

 

J’ai regarder ce que les autres riders faisaient pendant les semi-finales. J’ai donc pensé à d’autres tricks avant le run. Mon idée était de faire les tricks que j’avais planifié de faire dans les 2/3 premiers tours et ensuite j’ai regardé ce que les autres faisaient. Je pouvais donc remettre une couche… c’était vraiment sympa… et j’avais des espions sur le ponton de départ, merci Muri et Jan

 

 

For you in this week end witch riders lands a best tricks? Qui a pausé le meilleur trick pour toi ce week-end?

There were a few.. dominiks and daniels 1080s..

Trevor´s ,kaesen (petermichael) ´s, quins´s , nate´s , therearesomany´s railriding..

Shanes s-bend blind.. i was very surprised of that.. and there were definitely many tricks i did not see. It was just a crazy comp.

Il y en a eu quelques uns… Les 1080 de Dominik et Daniel…

Trevor, Kaesen (PeterMichael), Quin, Nate, et tellement de style sur les rails….

Le s-bend-blind de Shane…. J’ai été surpris… Et il y a eu aussi pleins de tricks que je n’ai pas vu… C’était une compétition juste de fou.

For this new format contest the Flexboard is the board to do it? no? Pour ce format de compétition, les flexboards sont vraiment idéales, non?

For the rails you do have an advantage.. for inverts the most people think it s not good.. but for me it works really good.. even without fins.

 

Pour les rails tu as un avantage, pour les blocages beaucoup de gens pensent que ce n’est pas terrible… Mais pour moi ça fonctionne bien, même sans les dérives…

A little Word on the Newschnitzel RIP , because you had your pro model, and I know that riders loved the German brand? Un petit mot sur  le « décès » de Newschnitzel, tu avais ton pro-model et je sais que les riders aimaient la marque Allemande.

It is still really sad… it was such an awesome brand with such a good team..
everybody keeps on going.. but for me it still feels like we are still a team.
Rest in peace!

ça reste un événement triste…. c’était vraiment une super marque avec une super équipe…

Tout le monde continue d’avancer et j’ai toujours l’impression qu’on fait une équipe…

yep. right now i am sitting in my hotel in montpellier right next to the dirtjump, waiting for a training set today..

After that ill be in Langenfeld for Wakeup and the « Relentless stairset session » on 12th of june and then of course.. the biggest event of the year.. Wake The Line!
cant wait.. this is going to be so crazy ..

 

Oui, là je suis juste assis dans ma chambre d’hôtel à Montpellier, à coté du jump de dirt et j’attends pour une session d’entrainement….

Après ça je serais à Langenfeld pour le Wakeup et le « Relentless stairset session » le 12 juin et ensuite bien sur… le plus gros événements de l’année… Wake the Line!

the reason why i choose this obstacle is because i loove Walls and rainbowrails.. and yeah.. we combined that and there it is.. simple and challenging at the same time..
The first hits where soo amazing.. loved it from the first second on….

La raison pour laquelle j’ai choisi cet obstacle est parce que j’aiiiiiiime les Wall et les rainbow… et oui… nous avons combiné les 2 et voilà! Simple et difficile à la fois…

Les premiers passage étaient tellement sympa… j’ai aimé dés la première seconde…
